Festa di Sant'Agata
The celebration of Catania's patron saint is one of the most engaging and heartfelt in all of Sicily. For three days the city transforms with solemn processions, pyrotechnic shows, fireworks and an explosion of popular traditions.

The Feast of Saint Agatha
Held every year from 3 to 5 February, the Feast of Saint Agatha is one of the largest and most heartfelt religious celebrations in the world, honouring Catania's patron saint. The silver bust and reliquary of the saint are carried through the city on the 'fercolo', followed by thousands of devotees dressed in the traditional white 'sacco'.
Towering candle-shaped wooden structures, the 'candelore', are paraded through the streets, while spectacular fireworks light up Piazza Duomo and the historic centre. The atmosphere is unforgettable — a blend of faith, tradition and pure Catanese passion. From the apartment you can reach the celebrations in the centre in about 15 minutes.
