Feast of Saint Agatha
Catania's most important religious event with processions, traditions, and celebrations.

Experiencing the Feast of Saint Agatha
Every 3–5 February, Catania devotes itself to its patron saint in one of the world's largest religious feasts. For visitors it is an extraordinary spectacle: the silver fercolo carried through packed streets, thousands of devotees in white, towering candelore swaying to the crowd's rhythm and night skies lit by fireworks.
To make the most of it, plan ahead: expect road closures and big crowds in the centre, arrive early for the key processions, and book accommodation well in advance — February fills up fast. Staying in Misterbianco lets you join the celebrations in Catania (about 15 minutes away) and retreat to a quiet base at night.
